Dr. Emir Caner welcomed the students and faculty to The Bridge Church for the first chapel services of the 2010-2011 academic year at Truett-McConnell College. Dr. Caner expounded on Luke 15: 11-32. He spoke about the faith of the prodigal son’s father. He encouraged students to go out and preach to the lost and to have faith that God is all you need and that God will provide. Dr. Caner emphasized our need for Christ and that it is essential that we rely on him for everything.
Dr. Jeff Crook, Senior Pastor at Blackshear Place Baptist Church in Flowery Branch, Georgia, spoke in chapel this week. His message asked students to consider two spiritual truths:
Dr. Crook spoke on the subject of money in order to offer students a biblical perspective on spending during college. He expounded on Proverbs 3:9 and 2 Corinthians 9. He challenged students to walk in wisdom on the subject of money and allow God to make a way for you.
Rev. Ridley Barron spoke a vital truth into the lives of students, staff, and faculty of Truett-McConnell College this morning as he expounded on the importance of forgiveness. He brought a compelling message about ridding ourselves of the bitterness we hold inside our hearts towards those who have wronged us. In order for God to be glorified through our lives, we must purpose within our hearts to forgive and also to put that forgiveness into action. Hebrews 12:15 states “See to it that no one comes short of the grace of God; that no root of bitterness springing up causes trouble, and by it many be defiled;”
