Truett-McConnell College Gives Thanks

Truett-McConnell College has made astounding progress since its humble beginnings in 1946.  Begun with a population of 54 students and 10 faculty members, the college opened its doors in September 1947.  Housed in cramped temporary quarters, students and faculty even then visualized a school rising on the hill east of Cleveland.  Today Truett-McConnell College sits on a site one mile east of Cleveland on a campus comprised of 230 acres and more than 20 buildings.  In December 2002, Truett-McConnell was approved as a four-year college after more than half a century on the two-year college level.

Truett-McConnell College provides a unique doorway to opportunity for everyone who enters.  Each individual crossing the threshold has the distinct advantage of an outstanding academic program, offered with additional opportunities for personal and spiritual growth, adding value to each degree.  Students come to Truett-McConnell with their own ambitions in place, but ambition is not enough.  Each student’s success depends greatly on leadership, challenging programs of study, quality facilities, sound management, and opportunities to grow spiritually, all of which help Truett-McConnell College students to reach their goals, no matter what those goals may be.

Since its inception, the college has served over 11,000 students with opportunities for learning that have taken them to places all over the world.  Its liberal arts curriculum, taught on a campus where everyday life is centered around Christ, has helped the school make a difference in the lives of many students.   For all of this Truett-McConnell College gives thanks to alumni, friends, supporters, foundations, churches, and the community at large.
