Gerald (called Gerry) Purcell (class of 1981) recently announced his campaign as a Republican candidate for the office of Georgia Insurance Commissioner in the 2010 state election. Following his degree from Truett-McConnell, he graduated from Chaminade University in Honolulu, Hawaii, on an ROTC scholarship as a Distinguished Military Graduate. He is a decorated Army Military Intelligence Officer and a winner of the prestigious General George C. Marshall Leadership Award, recognizing one of the top military science cadets in the nation.
