Treats At Truett 2008

TREATS AT TRUETT A SUCCESS
After a hiatus of a few years, a community event on Halloween night returned to Truett-McConnell College this year. Treats at Truett was sponsored by the college’s Student Services staff and promoted as a safe and fun alternative to traditional Halloween trick-or-treating. The family-oriented event drew more than 1,600 people to the campus.
The Student Services Staff under the leadership of Jonathan Morris, Andrew Gailey, Kate Bushey and Chris Davidson planned and carried out several events on the campus between the hours of 6:00 and 9:00 PM on October 31, including a marshmallow roast, a hand mime show, face painting, a fun house, hay rides and traditional Halloween treats available for children in several locations around the campus.
Students in all of the college’s residence halls participated in the event, assisted by volunteer groups from Helen First Baptist Church, Mount Yonah Baptist Church and The Bridge Church.
According to the Student Services staff, “We are already looking forward to another successful event next year.”
