Residence Halls


The residence halls at Truett-McConnell College are geared to support the education of the whole student. Truett-McConnell College offers four traditional residence halls and two apartment style housing. Each residence hall is staffed with Resident Assistants and Resident Directors to offer support to the residents and provide an environment conducive to academic progress. The community that is formed among residents promises strong bonds of friendship and camaraderie.
Traditional-age, single students are required to live in the residence halls and purchase Board (meal) plan for the college dining hall. Exceptions are made for students from White County and the surrounding counties who live with their parents or legal guardians. On campus housing is avalible for full-time students age 24 and younger.

All dorms have a common lobby, card access laundry facilities, vending machines, and community bathrooms. Cable, telephone and Internet connections are at no extra cost. Each room houses two people.  All housing is staffed by a Resident Director and Resident Assistants.

Merritt Hall: Constructed in 1966 and named for Dr. James Merritt, this traditional women's residence hall is a two-story brick building with 29 student dorms. The hall is staffed by Resident Assistants and a Resident Director. merridorm

Sewell Hall
Has the following room features:

· 2 Twin Beds and Mattresses
· 2 Desks
Constructed in 1959 and named for Ava F. (Mrs. Warren) Sewell, this traditional men's residence hall is a two-story brick building with 37 student dorms. The hall is staffed by Resident Assistants and a Resident Director.

Otwell Hall

Constructed in 1959 and named for Roy P. Otwell, this women's residence hall is a two-story brick building with 35 student dorms.

Cleveland Courts: (Reserved for upperclassmen)
Constructed in 1989, and newly remodeled in 2009, this two-story building houses upper classmen. The complex is equipped with card access laundry facility, vending machine, and a community lobby. The complex is apartment-style with three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a common lounge per unit. There are two desks, two standard-size twin beds (may be bunked), and two dressers in each room. Each room contains a window-unit air conditioner. Cable TV and wireless internet is provided in each room.

Twin Springs Married Student Housing
Twin Springs student housing units are adjacent to the campus, situated near Cleveland Courts. The complex offers married students 2 bedrooms, 2 ½ baths, a living room, full kitchen with dining area, washer/dryer hookup and utilities. Cable service and wireless internet are provided by the college.

New Dorm
The yet-to-be-named new dorm, built in 2011, offers students suite style living. Each 4-person suite consists of 2 rooms adjoined by a full bathroom. Common areas are centrally located on each floor, as well as first floor laundry and vending, accessible to all residence.
