Cleveland, GA (February 21, 2011) - Truett-McConnell College students gathered on Friday, February 18th to donate food to the White County Food Pantry.
TMC’s dining services, Chartwells, challenged students to reduce food waste and if they did, they would receive a free steak dinner. The students succeeded at the challenge and instead of the steak dinner, they opted to donate the food. The college donated 250 pounds of various items such as canned goods, rice, and potatoes.
The White County Food Pantry provides meals for families around the area each month. The families must be registered with the pantry, residents of White County, and must present an identification card.
The pantry is open Monday- Friday, 10am-12pm. Volunteers at the pantry were thankful and are appreciative of what the whole county is doing for them.
