How do I apply

Georgia Tuition Equalization Grant

Yes, if a Georgia resident taking a full course load.  (12 credit hours per semester.)

$350 per semester, up to $700 per academic year

HOPE Scholarship

Yes, if a legal resident of Georgia. Graduated from an accredited GA high school in 1996 or later with a 3.3 GPA. Student must be enrolled at least 1/2 time. Final eligibility is determined by the state.

Up to $1,800 per year

Federal Pell Grant

Yes, if a U.S. citizen with established need and enrolled in an approved program.

Awards up to $5,550 per year

Federal Supplemental Education Opportunity Grant (FSEOG)

Yes, if a U.S. citizen with established need. Because of limited funds, this program usually aids students with extreme financial need.

Awards range from $100 to $2,000 per year

Federal Subsidized Stafford Loan

Yes, if a student enrolls half-time. Federal Government pays interest while student is in school. Repayment begins six months after student carries less than half-time load.

Amounts up to $3,500 for first-year students; $4,500 for sophomore students; $5,500 for  juniors and seniors.

Federal Unsubsidized Stafford Loan

Yes, if a student is enrolled at least half-time. Federal Government does not pay interest while student is in school. Repayment of principal and interest begins six months after student carries less than half-time load.

Amounts of $3,500 to $7,500 for first-year students; $4,500 to $8,500 for sophomore students; $8,500 to $12,500 for juniors and seniors.

PLUS Loan (Parent Loan)

Yes, loans to parent of dependent student who enrolls at least half-time. Parent pays interest while student is in school.

Federal College Work-Study Program

Yes, if student is a U.S. citizen with established need and enrolled in an approved program. Part-time work on and off campus in offices, library, etc.

Current minimum wage. Student paid twice monthly after successful completion of work
